Matters of Space is an Residential and Small Commercial Boutique Interior Architecture Firm.

We are looking for a Associate Designer to join our team.

Designers in our studio play an essential role in overseeing, leading and furthering design. They are actively involved with their respective projects, and designers are expected to show initiative, have entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for establishing relationships with other team members, consultants and client teams. 

Studio members of all levels are required to be flexible, open minded and willing to work concurrent projects. We encourage open design dialog and participation among all of our staff.

Responsibilities:
Manage residential projects

Generate design concepts using Photoshop and Illustrator

Create detailed and precise interior elevations and plans

Specifications and Purchasing
Interface with clients and consultants
Verbally present design and technical ideas


Requirements: 
Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design
Professional portfolio demonstrating passion for interior design and interior architecture
Success developing and overseeing concurrent projects a plus
People, service and relationship driven
Highly organized and collaborative
Results-oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professionalism when interfacing with clients
AutoCAD 
Creative Suite (Illustrator and InDesign are essential)
Technical ability (coordination, detailing)

Studio Designer Software a plus

Interns

Matters of Space is always looking for qualified 4th year College Interns

Tasks Include:

Materials Library - Responsible for managing the materials library. Also will be responsible for sourcing and ordering samples of new materials and fabrics for the team. T

Managing Vendor Contacts, Along with entering new vendors into the system

Updating and managing client binders and budgets

Using Photoshop and indesign to produce cut sheets for client approval and our records.

Assisting with the organization and preparation of presentations. Preparing visual price lists; materials boards, and presentation layout.

Some assistance in construction documentation. Assisting senior designers with schedules and the annotation of construction documentation.

Putting together orders for clients along with processing, filing and tracking those orders
